GCSE Information Evening on Thursday 7th March 2024, 4.30pm-7.00pm
The next two years will bring challenge and change, as well as increased responsibility and a wealth of opportunities as young adulthood beckons and you progress to the next step towards achieving your future aspirations. Expectations are high for our Key Stage 4 students at the Birches Head Academy. To achieve your potential here at the Academy, you will need to show courage and integrity, with a desire to be the best you can possibly be.
Some subjects are compulsory and some subjects you will be able to choose. The details in the GCSE Course Guide 2024 will help with those decisions. We hope you are looking forward to joining Key Stage 4 and look forward to continue working with you as you take these next steps.
Following our week of ‘careers events’ for Year 9 and to support you and your child in making an informed decision regarding their option choices. We would like to invite you to our Option Evening on Thursday 7th March 2024, 4.30pm-7.00pm.
On the evening there will be a brief presentation in the main hall to explain the option process followed by an opportunity to speak with subject leaders about the courses. Our local colleges and career advice services will also be available for you to talk to during the evening.
In school, we have put a detailed and considered plan in place to ensure that your child will have all the knowledge and information to enable them to make appropriate choices for their future success including:
- Assembly
- PSHE
- Subject talks
- Meeting with a school leader
