A new flood-lit third generation (3G) artificial grass pitch was officially opened at Birches Head Academy on Thursday 28 September 2023 and is set to support pupils, the local and wider community. GCSE results day (Thursday 24 August 2023) saw scenes of delight as Year 11 students came into school to collect their results and celebrated their achievements with teachers, families and friends. An Exchange of well-being ideas and spaces 40 Birches Head Academy students have now travelled to Granada to work with our partner school, Escolapios Genil Granada mostly funded by the Turing Fund. From the 40 successful applicants, 20 were then partnered up with 20 Spanish students, with the aim of initiating a traditional exchange. Exchange
On 6th May, we were delighted to welcome 20 students from across KS3 to the library for our Coronation Tea Party. The students involved were all competition winners who had designed invitations to the coronation for their favourite book character. Our KMF Young Engineer of the Year 2021-22 Team have submitted their report following the successful launch of their Science experiment into space using a weather balloon. The team of students investigated how temperature and pressure affects the volume of household fluids and found some interesting results! Attached is a picture from approximately 30,000m altitude.
