As part of our mission to provide our students with a world-class education. We want to offer our students the best possible opportunities to explore their curriculum subjects outside of the classroom as well as in their timetabled lessons.

In Music this year, we have purchased some Steel Pan drums that are commonly used in Caribbean music. We are also incredibly lucky to be welcoming Red Panda Entertainment to school on April 20th 2023, to lead a workshop with a group of 24 students who will learn to play this wonderful instrument and learn about its history and the music it is designed to play. This will lead to some groups of students who can then perform in school events such as assemblies, showcases and open events and showcase their brilliant new skills.

As this is such a prestigious opportunity, we would like students to apply to participate in this event, explaining why they would like to participate in this fantastic opportunity. To apply, students will need write a short paragraph about why they are interested in learning more about Caribbean music and why they feel they should be considered for a place on the workshop and return this to Miss Mooney in MU2. Spaces are limited to 24 students so if we receive more applications than this, we may invite students to interview for this opportunity.
