Please find below, message sent from the school immunisations team. Please do not contact the academy as this is all being dealt with centrally, by the immunisations team.
Dear Parent/Guardian
Your child is due their vaccination to protect against Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). As part of the national immunisation programme the first offer for Dose 1 is in year 8 with dose 2 offered in year 9, due to COVID-19 restrictions not all schools were visited last academic year
This vaccine requires two doses; the second dose is given 6 – 24 months after the first. If your child is 15-17 years old, or immunosuppressed regardless of age when they receive the first dose they will require 3 doses.

You must have parental responsibility or delegated authority for immunisations to consent for the vaccinations.

You may have already completed a consent form for your child to receive dose 1 of the programme, unfortunately due to the e-consent wording we require parents to re-consent for the 2nd dose. If your child has not yet received any HPV vaccinations and you would like them to start the programme now, please complete a consent form. Alternatively If your child has already received both doses of HPV, then you do not need to complete an e-consent form as they are already protected with the full course.

Please ensure only one parent / guardian books their child’s vaccination appointment to reduce the risk of duplicate appointments / vaccinations.
