Students and staff from Birches Head Academy recently welcomed the West Midlands Regional Schools Commissioner, Mr Andrew Warren, to witness the Academy’s journey since joining the Frank Field Education Trust (FFET).

During the visit, Mr Warren had a tour of the facilities, met with students and staff including the Principal Ms Katie Dixon, the Trust Chief Executive, Tom Quinn, and the Trust Chair, Dr Chris Hampshire.

Students presented to Andrew Warren and embodied the Academy’s vision of “aspire to be more”. The students who represented the Academy were polite, eloquent and a true representation of our ethos, aspirations and values.

The Trust was founded by the Rt. Hon Lord Frank Field in 2016 who served for almost 40 years as the Member of Parliament for Birkenhead. Birches Head Academy joined the Frank Field Education Trust in December 2020.

Principal, Ms Katie Dixon said: “It was a real pleasure to show Mr Warren around Birches Head Academy and to see our pupils talk about the exciting journey we have been on. We are very proud to have joined the Frank Field Education Trust last year, and we are committed to our ambition to provide a world-class education and become one of the best schools in the country!”

Following the visit, Mr Warren tweeted (@AndrewWarrenUK) “Thank you to Birches Head Academy for your warm welcome. Really good to see the difference & impact that joining a trust has already had. A real privilege to listen to pupils explaining what it means to them to be part of the Frank Field Education Trust”
