Dear Parent/Carer

CHANGE TO MY PREVIOUS LETTER REGARDING FULL SCHOOL CLOSURE

As you are aware the National Education Union (NEU) has announced both National and Regional dates for industrial action. The remaining Strike dates are scheduled below.

  • Tuesday 28th February 2023 – Ellesmere Port Church of England College and Handforth Grange Primary School
  • 1st March 2023– Birches Head Academy
  • Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th March 2023 – Birches Head Academy, Ellesmere Port Church ofEngland College and Handforth Grange Primary School
    We have been informed by the NEU the number of Teachers who maybe striking on these days across our Trust.

    Following on from our experience of the last Strike Day we now intend to keep our schools’ partially open as follows:

  • ELLESMERE PORT C of E COLLEGE-closed for all pupils in Y8,9 and 10, but open to all other Year groups.
  • BIRCHES HEAD ACADEMY- closed for all pupils in Y8,9 and 10, but open to all other Year groups.
  • HANDFORTH GRANGE PRIMARY SCHOOL- open to pupils at the discretion of the Headteacher who willnotify Parents and Carers as appropriate.

    If there are any changes to these intended strike days’ I will notify you immediately.

    I thought you would appreciate receiving this information as soon as possible in order that you can make appropriate arrangements.
