We are incredibly proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Tyler in Year 9, who has successfully qualified for the English Schools Track & Field Championships in the 200m.

This is a remarkable accomplishment, as English Schools is one of the most prestigious competitions in school athletics, bringing together the very best young athletes from across the country. This year, the event will take place in London, making it an even more exciting opportunity to compete on a national stage.

The pathway to this level is extremely competitive and requires consistent high-level performances throughout every stage. Tyler progressed through each round of the qualification process, competing at:

• District Championships
• County Schools Championships
• Regional (Inter-Counties) Competition

At every stage, Tyler not only had to finish in the top two to progress, but also achieve the qualifying standard time required to move forward. This demonstrates exceptional consistency, speed, and the ability to perform under pressure against strong competition.

Having successfully met all the criteria, Tyler has now secured his place at the English Schools Championships in London, where he will go on to compete against the best athletes in the country.

This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to Tyler’s hard work, dedication, and commitment throughout the season. Everyone at the school is extremely proud, and we wish him the very best as he takes on this exciting national opportunity.
