Birches Head Academy (BHA) has been awarded the International School Award by the British Council in recognition of its outstanding efforts to promote global education within its curriculum and school culture.
The school’s commitment to international work, formation of global relationships, educational trips, student exchanges and initiatives promoting international awareness and understanding has recognised BHA in fostering cross-cultural experiences for its students.

Mrs M Owen, Assistant Principal at BHA attended the ceremony at the House of Commons in London highlighted the positive impact of the International School Award: “This recognition is a testament to our dedication to providing students with a well-rounded education that extends beyond borders. We believe that fostering global awareness is crucial for preparing our students for the interconnected world they will navigate.”
The International School Award program has not only benefited students by enhancing their knowledge and tolerance of different cultures but has also positively influenced teachers and the broader community.
