Birches Head Academy celebrates best GCSE results in three years
Birches Head Academy is delighted to announce a fantastic set of GCSE results for its Year 11 pupils, achieving the school’s best performance in three years.
The results reflect the hard work and dedication of students and staff and mark a successful year with significant improvements across a wide range of subjects.
The Academy saw notable performance in core subjects, with significant gains in English, Maths, and Science. There were also substantial improvements in Geography, History, RE, Spanish, Food, Sport, and Health and Social Care.
The school is particularly pleased with a significant increase in the number of 9-7 grades and an impressive rise in the highest grade 9s, demonstrating the school’s commitment to providing an ambitious curriculum that inspires every pupil to ‘Be More’ and make a difference to their community and beyond.
At BHA, we pride ourselves on developing our pupils’ intellectual, cultural and social capital and the vast majority of pupils have gained the qualifications they need as they prepare for the next stage in their education whether it is sixth form, college or entering an apprenticeship. Among the many success stories are pupils Deborah, George, Amy and Ibk.
They achieved outstanding grades in their exams, with 17 grade 9s across the year group, including Deborah achieving 7 grade 9s and Ibk gaining 3 grade 9s across Triple Science.
Speaking about their results, George said, “I’m so thrilled with my results! It was a lot of hard work, but my teachers at Birches Head Academy were amazing and really helped me stay on track. I’m so excited to be able to go on to study maths, physics and philosophy at the City of Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College”.
Another pupil stated, “I am over the moon with my grades, my teacher helped me believe that I could achieve my target grades and I have, my next step is English, Physics and Maths at Newcastle Sixth Form College”.
Tiffany joined us in Year 11 and quickly made a positive impact within our school community. Tiffany was delighted to gain Grade 4 and 3 Grade 5s in her core subjects, reflecting her commitment to academic progress. She will now be continuing her education at Newcastle College, where she will study Radiology.
Oska, who gained a grade 6 or 7 in all his subjects, said “it’s what I expected” and he is delighted to be going on to study quantity surveying also at Newcastle College.
Principal, Mr. Masher expressed his immense pride in the pupils’ accomplishments. “I am incredibly proud of every single one of our pupils for their resilience and commitment. This year’s results are a testament to their unwavering effort and the continuous support provided by our dedicated team of staff and the wider school community. These fantastic grades are a well-deserved reward for their hard work and a brilliant foundation for their future pathways in education and beyond.”
